About Us

Threadwell Campbell Sr. was  a loving husband to Evelyn Jackson Campbell for over 65 years, a wonderful father to four sons and their children, and a great American.

At the age of 23 years old, he was an infantry company 1st Sergeant (1SG, E-8) who fought in WWII and the Korean Conflict, and ultimately retired from the Army reserves.

He was a leader in his church and a pillar in the community who spent over 30 years as a high school teacher, influencing the lives of  many generations.

Although all four of his sons served in the Army, it wasn’t until his later years that they began to know more about his military service.  Like many veterans, Threadwell Campbell did not talk much about his service during the war years.  Only after his grandchildren began to ask him for information did they find out that he was a true hero.

There may be a hero living with you, working with you, worshipping with you, and you MIGHT NOT KNOW IT!  It is time to find them and record their stories.

Threadwell Campbell Senior went to be with the Lord on Sept 1, 2009 at the age of 88 years old.  This contest is to honor him and all of our Nation's Military Veterans!
